What happens when someone dies?

4 June 2019 – New Forest Parent/Carer forum are pleased to announce that Naomi Pearson from Speaking Space will be attending our meeting between 1.30 – 3.00 pm to talk to us about a programme that she has put together to enable parents and carers to begin to have a conversation with their adult with a learning disability about dying and bereavement.  New Forest Mencap was able to run one of these workshops last year and we learned that those who attended enjoyed the workshop, even though the subject matter was difficult, and that it was very beneficial to learn the vocabulary associated with death, dying and the emotions this may bring as this enabled people to open up about their own experiences and receive support.
